The last Apple OS can run Unix appplications...so my question is, Is there a linux distro that can be installed on a Mac machine?

Thanks for your answers...I am new to linux, so I didn't know about PPC. I have a Power PC at the office...6 GB HDD, 300 MHZ....and since we don't have much use for it, I am thinking to get it running linux or in case we wanna keep it like apple OS system install OS X jaguar.
Summary: is it possible to install Linux on my mac without using a seperate partition? if so will it destroy my OSX and OS9 after linux installs? That is to say Linux 2K not RedHat ...
