I am running dual celeron 433's on an abit bp6. I have tried mandrake 7.1, redhat 6.1, redhat 6.2 beta, and suse 6.3. All lock up on proccessor detect. I currently have suse loaded, and the smp kernel IS installed, and kernmods.rpm is installed. All locked up, and I am at a loss. I am stuck with win 98 now, which makes it hard to use both of those proccessors. Any help here?

Try to use Gentus Linux from ABIT, the BP6 manufacturer. It's a RedHat 6.x soft but with some adds. I have installed Gentus Linux
on my bp6 with almost no problem. The only problem I have the Linux does not install my printer port.

They also have a very useful discussion board for installation problems @:

Good Luck!
