POP???

Check to see how often clients are checking there mail.

The're not as dumb as we think. Slowly they change there mail to poll from 10 minutes to poll every minute until your nic is maxed and no CPU time left.

Then check the size of the size of their mailboxes

/var/spool/mail

I found people that had 80 MB sitting on the server and checking their mail every 2 minutes.

The pop server compares the set of mail on the client to the set on the server. Ouch!!!

The best part, It's not your fault.

We use Eudora. We push out a new copy of the .ini file eudora uses for it's settings to our clients every week. At the beginning of the week we get great performance.

Well, if your an isp your screwed.
