Linux login scripts

in redhat 9 where do i put the login script so it will apply to all users when the login? i tried teh .login but that didn't work for some reason.

Depends which shell the users are using...

For sh/ksh/bash it's not .login, it's .profile (.login is csh)

For "global" options put them in /etc/profile
For individual user options put them in .profile in the user's home directory.
