Hello everyone! :-D

[skippable_story]
Look, I downloaded ePSXe, the PlayStation emulator, I went to video config and there weren't any plugins there. So I downloaded some from NGemu, but when I re-run the video setup, I get this:
-------------------
[root@localhost epsxe-1.6.0]# ./epsxe
* Running ePSXe emulator version 1.6.0.
libstdc++.so.5: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory
-------------------
So I downloaded the "compat-libstdc++" package, but it needed the "glibc" package, so I got that, but that one needed "glibc-common", but...
[/skippable_story]

glibc needs glibc-common and vice-versa! What do I do? Thanks! ;-)

Use something like apt-get or yum that will
download and install any dependencies for
you automatically. It should be as simple
as:
# apt-get install epsxe

Hmm... And how do I install apt-get? :-(
It has 3 dependencies:

librpm-4.3.so
librpmdb-4.3.so
librpmio-4.3.so

All of them come up with the same packages on a search on RPMFind.net:

rpm-libs-4.3.3-3.0.fc3.1.i386.rpm
rpm-libs-4.3.2-21.i386.rpm
rpm-4.3.1-0.4.1.i386.rpm
rpm-4.3.1-0.3.i386.rpm

All of those packages are already installed... What do I do now? Much thanks! ;-)

I haven't used RPMs for a long time but I
reckon you should upgrade your rpm package.
Download rpm-4.3.1-0.4.1.i386.rpm and
install it with "rpm -Uvh
rpm-4.3.1-0.4.1.i386.rpm"....or see if
someone else can help better, sorry I don't
have an RPM based system to hand.

Reply:

put both packages in one directory

cd to the directory and do as root:

rpm -ivh *

it will handle both dependencies.
