hi guyverwrkshp......

let me tell something about redhat in connection with ur problem. this is not a solution but i wanted some more info regarding your problem.

before that........
>>be sure that you've installed your HDD on
primary master channel.

ok now coming to the clarification that i needed.......

when the system halts (may system restart or hang........which is your case?). if system hangs, try pressing ctrl+alt+F1(or F2 or F3 or F4 or F5 or F6 or F7). usually if u press ctrl+alt+F1 you'll have installation screen (if you opted for text based installation). Ctrl+alt+F7 'll have GUI based screen (if you selected GUI based installation) rest all other combinations will give some or the other messages(for example while formatting the hdd message like, checcking blok 17779/289600)etc etc etc etc...... may be the problem for which it halted might have displayed there........

with regards,

sHIVAPRASADp
