hello, I'm trying to install redhat 6. It worked fine nutil I had to choose between diskdruid and fdisk for the partitions. When I clicked on one or the other, the system indicates me that there's no valid disk to install files, no devices found, check your system configuration..........I have 2 HDDs, 1 with windows running on it, the other empty, but ready to have linux installed. But yet, I dont see the problem. What is it that I'm missing ? anyone ?thanks

This happened to me last year. The destination disk for Linux had old programs on it and Linux couldn't identify enough free space.

I disconnected the cables from Windows HDD, removed the old data from the other disk, formatted it and let Linux take over the entire disk for an automatic install. Then I reconnected the Windows HDD and ran Autodetect Hard Disks.

I use a floppy with Loadlin and a BZIMAGE to boot Linux but an easy way to test it out when both disks have been reconnected is to go into BIOS Setup and make the second hard disk drive the First Boot Device. Provided Linuc installed OK it should boot up normally.

Hope this helps.

Hello,

I am installing RedHat Linux ver 6.1 in my old system[486 processor, 16mb RAM, 2GB hard disk]. Linux installed successfully, then it ask us to restart the system and trying to boot from HardDisk. But while trying to boot from Harddisk, it keeps on displaying the 01 01 01 01 01 01 01 01....

What could be the problem? Kindly help me...

advance thanx
Rajini.
