linux installation on SATA hdd sams

Dear friends, i have faced a problem when i tried to instal fc4 on my system which already have a xp professional .my hdd is a samsung make 80 gb sata.when i started the installation from fc4 it cud not recogonice the hdd it is asking for the driver floppy/disc og hdd,but the supplier has not been given any driver software 4 this hdd.i am really stuched up .plase help me

i know nothing about linux, but would start by visiting the motherboard manu's website with the correct model number. there should be info there on the the correct SATA driver for the chipset on the m/board. SATA is a standard, so there should be no real issues with needing extra drivers for individual HDs, you just the correct m/board driver on a floppy to give the install when it prompts
