Also I used sndconfig for my sound card and it found it but didnt play the test sound. How could i get my sound working??

goto a terminal and type Xconfigurator . this will run the config script so you can play with things till you get it right. If the screen gets all screwed up you can hit ctl+alt+F6 to get back to a prompt so you can run Xconfigurator again.

not sure on the sound card. look in /var/log/messages and try to see where the card did or did not initialize at bootup. fix the screen first anyway, then move on to the sound card.

good luck, post back if you are still having trouble.
