I set up a linux ftp server(wu-ftpd) under redhat linux 7.0. When i connect to the server in my LAN directly using the server IP address,i found it took a long time to build the connection. But once the connection is built, the access operation is very fast! why?

Hi I think I've had a similar problem, was solved like this: In /etc/resolv.conf I had a line saying "nameserver x.x.x.x". I deletetd this line, and the connection took only seconds.
While you ftp to the RH 7.0, you could in the prompt type "netstat --inet". Here you can see what is happeining. This is how I solved the problem.
