hi!
i have an old computer system lying around, but i want to make some use of it (besides a doorstopper). it has a pentium processor at 200mhz, 64mb of EDO ram, a 1.8gb hard drive, and a 2mb video card. is there an easy, simple version of linux that will run on this kind of system, or am i stuck with putting on windowz? thanx in advance!
DSL (damn small linux) or Mandrake 9.0 would run on your old computer provided you made sure you kept to use as a desktop, or firewall and did not load everything in site. Google for linux distributions there are hundreds of solutions to your request out there!

Slackware or Debian will both run fine on that hardware, FreeBSD too if you don't want to go down the linux route. Whichever distro you choose don't bother with KDE or Gnome but go for a lightweight window manager like xfce or fluxbox.
