Hey I just recently installed linux on one of my old copmuter, seemed like a fun project. All is well, except I cannot connect to the internet. I've called comcast support, and the support line for my router, nobody seems to be able to help me. Well my router recognizes the connection to the cpu, and the light on the back of the cpu lights up when the cable is plugged in, but when starting up linux says

Determining IP for eth0 .... failed ... check cable?

Any suggestions? I have had a working ethernet connection on this cpu before (with windows) but not the system seems to not recognize the hardware/cable anymore. Who knows if it's linux, the router, or just my stupidity causeing the problem. Any help would be much appriciated. Thank you.
