Hi
I am not very familiar with linux and PCs.
But I am good with Sun and sparc stations.
Question:
Instead of using Ghost, I would like to mirror a disk on my intel running linux 7.2 and use an equivalent command like Sun's installboot to make the mirror disk bootable. What command should I use in linux to make this new system disk bootable?
Thank you
Kamelia

Reply:

you can use grub to make this happen, assuming you have successfully mirrored the disk.

1. use only that disk, boot in to linux somehow, floppy, rescue etc.. install grub on MBR.

grub> root (hd0,0)
grub> setup (hd0)
grub> quit

this one assumes that hd0 is the drive you want made bootable.
