Comparing W7 and Linux is like comparing Apples and Oranges...

You need to identify the manufacturer of the hardware and undertake a Google for Linux Drivers...

Yahoo: Use the built-in Pidgin Messenger client.

Ubuntu has a Forum:

Many of the linux cd/dvd's are able to run live. You test your system out that way before you get too far along.

You can use the data from device manager in W7 to help determine the chipset in linux that may be needed. Used to be system information msinfo32 but may be different in W7 See help and support or go do device manager and get vendor info and chip id.

hi.
thank you for all your advice.. i will try it.
i also tried to contact hp office but they only said they will send my inquiry to 2nd level of the tech. dept. As of now they do not have drivers for this model if using linux, either i use window7 or downgrade to xp or vista.. whatever.. which i was not informed by laptop dealers before taking money.
like being mark by the devil 666,, from the coffee we drink to clothes we wear and cars we drive, all machines that make and runs it , windows program is use.
anyway. i will just try again all your advice,
i will post results so i can share what i will discover...
thanks again

I followed part of that until the devil part. ????

HP is a great company in my opinion. They do offer support for linux. You have to understand that they didn't say your disk is supported, we can't even be sure it is correct without a md5 or shal.

may try the latest beta of 9.10, I have been running the alpha 6 for a few weeks now, seems stable. Maybe you will have better luck with the sound.
