is the keyboard check disabled in the bios? Or is the problem come after that?

I am attempting the same thing only with Debian instead of SlackWare. I left the monitor on to see what was happening and the system appears to go into a loop looking for a keyboard controller that is not there. After about a minute an a half it continued on and finished the boot process. In my case the bios has disabled the keyboard controller so I don't believe it is a bios problem. I haven't yet been able to find where to turn off the keyboard in the boot process.
If you leave your system on does it eventually boot or is it locked permanently?

I don't have any problems with removing my keyboard. Whenever I need my keyboard I plug it in and when I don't need it I can keep it removed even when I do a restart. Once I plug it in I can use it again instantly. I have Mandrake installed on that machine. You shouldn't disable the keyboard controller, just disable the check for the presence of a keyboard.
