Hi,
I have a 40gb harddrive.I installed on it Windows XP first on a 25gb partition an dleft the rest of 15 gb unpartitioned. Then I installed red hat 7.3 and selected the option to automatically create partition and do not touch the existing partition. It installed but then when I booted it only boots with the Linux no XP.
Anyways I insalled XP again and now it boots with XP no linux can any one pls tell what should I do to get both things working.
Thanks a zillion.

When you install RedHat Linux (after installing
XP), make sure you use either lilo or GRUB to
boot up either XP or Linux. Remember to put
XP on that list... If you are not sure what
to do, send me a copy of your /etc/lilo.conf
and I will take a look or modify for you.

Install XP first and partition your Linux install with 3 partitions: /boot(boot partition), swap (make sure you specify double your physical RAM), and / (root partition). then choose to install LILO on second partition, not boot! Install and make a boot disk 'cause you will need it to boot into Linux. This is the easiest way I know. I have @00, Linux RH 7.1 and XP all on the same system, but 2000 and XP are the two on the boot loader.

I have XP and Mandrake 8.1 on the same HD.
XP installed first, I used Partition
Magic(by Power Quest) to set up a EXT2 file
Partition. Installed Linux to the EXT2.
Am using Lilo during boot to select OS. XP
is listed on boot screen as NT(on my
system). Hope this helps.
