Linux and Win XP internet sharing

I have my machine running XP setup as a server with two NIC's. One for LAN and the other for I-net. My client computer dual boots linux and windows xp. I can share the internet with my client using xp, but when I boot up with linux (redhat 7.3) it works for a few minutes (meaning I can browse websites) and then stops working. My network settings for linux are to obtain IP automatically using bootp. If anybody knows a better way of sharing the i-net using my home network setup, or can find a solution to this annoying problem then please email me or respond. Thanks.

Hello-
It's odd that you are able to connect for a few minutes and then are not able to connect. Is this with the server computer (the one w/ 2 nics) or one of the client computers? This way should work correctly if you are using IPTables or IPChains to perform your NAT. With that said, I would recommend going through a router anyway. Basically your internet connection would run to the router and then the router would run lines out to every comp on your LAN. This would prohibit you having to keep your computer on at all times to server the rest of the LAN. Anyway, it isnt completely necessary but I would recommend making this network change whenver you are going to add another system to the network especially. hth.
