Linux and Amd Cool n quiet

OS: Suse 10.2 64 bit
CPU/Ram: AMD 1gig

I came across this the other day. I run Suse 10.2 64 bit. I noticed that although the correct processor ( AMD 3200+ 64)type was picked up in the "My Computer" the speed shown was 1000 mhz, I then followed the advice of another article and went into the Bios and disabled "Cool n Quiet", after this "My Computer", showed 2.2 mhz. I have no idea if this applies in any other variation of Linux.

AMD is trying to help you oddly enough.

As per here.

Use this with the other needed files. Might be able to yast it or yum it or rpm it too.
