hi,
i've been trying to install linux on a computer with a 120 gig hard drive thats partitioned into 3 drives. drive c: 30 gig drive f: 40 gig, and drive g: 50 gig. they're all ntfs. i downloaded the linux isos, burnt then on a cd and tried to boot from it and what happens is that i press enter to start the installation, and the first two things load, and then it reboots. what can be the problem and how can i solve it? step by step help would be appreciated. it would be a great help if u could help me via messenger. btw, drive c contains win xp.
thx.
if u could help me add dutty_killa@hotmail.com to ur msn. thx again

Firstly you will have to get rid of one of those partitions to make room for GNU/Linux. You should be able to do that from within the installer though. What distro are you trying to install? What "first two things load" and do you get any errors? Are you able to try an expert install which should hopefully give you some more pointers as to where it is going wrong?
I have often found some of the following commands useful for booting when things don't go as planned. At the point where you would usually hit enter to start the install process, try typing one of the following:
linux nodma
linux noapic
linux nousb
linux apm=off
linux nopcmcia
You can string them together too like:
linux nopcmcia nousb apm=off
