Linspire are now offering their version of APT-GET depositary FREE.
They have a downloadable LiveCd FREE, and on a newer PC it is a great entry into the world of Linux.

I haven't used CNR for a long time, infact I've taken Linspire off and replaced it with Fedora, but from what I remember the basic CNR package had a very minimum set of software packages available. In order to get the more popular software, you needed upgrade to GOLD CNR, which still costs $50 per year. With the basic package there were a number of open source packages that you had to pay for or they were much older releases than you could get elsewhere. I'm willing to bet that they will be moving some of the more popular programs from the basic package to be available only via the gold package.
I find installing via yum or rpm just as painless as CNR.
I will be impressed when both Lindows and CNR gold are FREE.

Quite agree, but CNR takes away dependencies issues for newbies.
Surely if Linux is to attract more mainstream it has to be more Windows like !!!
