Hi, guys. Need some help before my head blows up! I'm trying to install LimeWire (newest version 2.6) in Mandrake 9.0. This is what happens:

[root@localhost Downloads]# sh LimeWireLinux.bin
Preparing to install...
Extracting the installation resources from the installer archive...
Configuring the installer for this system's environment...
No Java virtual machine could be found from your PATH
environment variable. Yous must install a VM prior to
running this program.
[root@localhost Downloads]#

Am I missing something?

Thanks,

Sam

I don't know why your head would explode
because if you read the error message
carefully, you know that you need to have
java on your system before you can install
LimeWire! In fact, it even says so on their
website... You can download the latest
version, 1.4.1, either at java.sun.com or
www.blackdown.org. After installing it,
make sure you include it in your path,
either in ~/.bashrc or ~/bash_profile, so
LimeWire can find it,

PATH=$PATH:/usr/bin/j2re1.4.1/bin
export PATH

I've got Java 1.4.1 installed already. How do I include it in my path? I'm not sure what to do with ~/.bashrc or ~/bash_profile or where I should type this in:
PATH=$PATH:/usr/bin/j2re1.4.1/bin
export PATH

Thanks!

Open a text editor of either .bashrc or
.bash_profile. Then add those two lines
somewhere in there. By the way, you need
to know the exact path to your java. If
not sure where it is, run this command at
the prompt,

whereis java
-or-
find / -name java -print

open up terminal and type this in:\

export PATH=$PATH:/usr/java/your java file/bin

this should solve everything, then just go ahead
and install.
