I'm trying to do the same thing with Mandrake Linux and WinXP. I loaded XP on the first drive (/dev/hdf) a long time ago and don't want to reinstall if possible. I just loaded Linux on the second drive (/dev/hde) yesterday and would like to use LILO to swap OS on demand.
I made the above modification to etc/lilo.conf but lilo does not present the WinXP entry as a selection when I reboot. I switched to grub which does recognize the selection entry, but sends an error message when trying to load WinXP.

After modifying lilo.conf, did you run the lilo command?

I did not run the lilo command. I thought rebooting would execute the command. Do I run the command by entering "lilo" from the command line?
Thanks.

Yep....just make sure that you run the command as root.
The one big difference between grub and lilo is that after editing the conf file you have to write it to the MBR with the lilo command but you don't for grub.
