Its not possible if u r installing Red Hat Linux 7.0. U must have atleast more than 500 MB of free space if u r also wishing to install X windows of Linux. Swap partition should also b more that atleast double the memory .. I mean perhaps more thatn 32 MB..contact also linux.com for more information. Perhaps u can install some initial versions of linux...thnx.

minix is a good choice if you have a knowledge of Unix. I didn't have any problems with linux on my 486 using the Redhat version that comes with Linux for Dummies. It may be a bit slow though.
Try to go online and get a couple linux distrubutions. See if they work.

SuSE can do a 386, and it will give you a full system, but the most critical thing is to max out on all the ram you can get...

for truely no money look at muLinux they have a nice basic system with lots of stuff: http://sunsite.dk/mulinux/

I believe Mandrake has an option to put Linux in windows as a single file on a a fat partition

SO: if you want to look at linux maybe Mandrake with linux in Windows maybe the way to go

or if you really want to do something with that old 386 then maybe SuSE (I would go with this so you get a mainstream package) or muLinux
