I've had this problem when first installing KDE3 on Mandrake 8.2...I fixed it...it has now reappeared (after upgrading KDE) and I can't fix it again!=o(
Clicking on the shell button on the KDE panel, it launches a console but locks up the panel/kde menu. After quitting the shell, it comes up with a dialogue box: KDEInit could not launch 'konsole-noxft'. After clicking on OK, control is returned to the panel. ##################################### Just fixed it...I'll carry on with this posting just in case anyone else has the same problem. Just change the execute command from: konsole-noxft %i %m to konsole -noxft %i %m (with a space after konsole) and all works fine.
Summary: can u explain clearly.......is it the problem comming while using kde konsole... if that problem use xterm and move the file "~/.kde/share/config/kdeglobals" to some other name and restart/relogin th...
Summary: When I said "bring up a console" I meant like Konsole or an xterm (a terminal windows in X). Alternatively you should be able to find an entry in your KDE menu along the lines of "Konsole - Super User...
