I have found this tutorial which seems to be very easy, would this work on my Server, if so, how long would the process take (100mb connection)

Sorry, can't check the tutorial as you need to log in....
If this is a production server make sure that you add your new kernel as a separate boot entry rather than replacing your existing one. This allows you to test it out first, if it doesn't work you can at least use your old kernel to boot, if it does work make the boot loader default point to the new kernel.
