I'm having trouble connecting to the internet with Linux. I have a SLAX distro called back|track. When I run the distro from the live CD, it seems to connect fine but I installed it to my HDD and ever since its not letting me connect to the internet. I have a Netgear WG511 on my laptop and it has a Prism54g chipset. Some programs will detect the wireless networks but the program WiFiassistant does not pick up any networks.

Intel E6300 Core 2 Duo
G.Skill 1GB DDR26400
Sapphire Radeon X1900XT
Seagate 320GB HDD
Windows XP Professional

What driver are you using? Try booting off the live version and check the outputs of lsmod, iwconfig, ifconfig and the contents of /etc/resolv.conf. You can then use these same commands to configure these settings on the hard drive install.
