Comment:

I just installed REDHAT LINUX 9.0
Im having trouble connecting it to the internet... I have a small home network with a linksys router. Could someone tell me some instructions, the manual does not help. By the way, my network card is compatible.

Thanks in advance

The following assumes your router is set up as using DHCP

In Start Menu select System Settings -> Network

Select Devices tab
You should see Device=eth0 with Status=Active

Select Edit on toolbar
Check "Activate device when computer starts"
Select "Automatically obtain IP address settings with dhcp"
Select OK button

Select DNS tab
Hostname: enter your computer's name here
Primary DNS: enter primary Domain Server from your ISP
Secondary DNS: enter secondary Domain Server from your ISP
DNS Search Path: enter name for Domain Server for ISP

I followed the directions given up above. My network is working properly, however, my internet connection doesn't work. Everytime when i start Mozilla, it tries to connect and then says, "Operation Timed Out". What can I do?
