dear sir I am new in linux. I have a problem in assigning IPAddress in linux.So Kindly tell me the way to assign Ip address. I have internet connecton on my system. I can access it from windows but i don't know how to get the access in linux. please tell me.

Setting up network card in linux depends on what distribution you are using. In OpenSuSE it's quite easy. You simply can use YAST2 from the system menu to configure your linux.

Oh, I just saw, you're using RedHat.
So click the Main Manu Button on the panel, then System Settings, and Network. You need root privileges to manage this.
