Hello All:
I'm setting up Mandriva 2007 on an older computer I recently acquired that has an Intel 815 chipset. I've got most video working, and 3d support seems to be ob, but not working very well. #D-rendered games run, but verrrry slowly, too much so to be playable. However, I've got the feeling that they should be running faster than they are, since I have another windows xp maching with similar specs on which the same games run well (Warzone 2100 and UFO: Alien Invastion, for example). Might anyone have any advice for speeding up the 3d acceleration, or for making sure I have the correct drivers, etc. installed?

Thanks for the URL--however I've already downloaded and installed this driver, to no avail. Any other possibilities?
Thanks!

Since this is an older computer, you state that 3D acceleration is enabled, and you did not complain that you are unable to see the graphical screen, the next most likely candidate is the desk top environment. Are you using KDE or Gnome? If you are, try a lighter weight desktop like matchbox or xfce and friends. If the desktop environment is drawing most of your system resources, you may not have enough left to properly run 3D games or other graphics intensive applications.
