I have Xp home already installed on my pc. When i tried to install Suse Linux 9 it said it failed to resize the partition or something and wouldn't install. On the Suse website it said that it should be able to resize windows partitions with no trouble!any ideas?

Did Suse mention why it wouldn't resize? It's possible that running filesystem tools like scandisk and defragmentiser before trying to install SuSe will help. So, you've a clean NTFS filesystem. I've never tried it as I see no need for having a windows system. If you bought your Suse distribution, you are entitled to installation support.
