I've been trying to install redhat 9 in windows xp and for some reason, it gets all the way to the second cd before giving me error messages about not being able to read packages. I tried creating fresh cd's to eliminate scratches, and deselecting the particular packages, but the system just picks new packages to error out on, anyone tried installing redhat 9 like this yet? Any tips/hints?

Did you check the MD5 checksums after downloading the images? Could be that one of the ISOs is corrupt.

I had the same problem. I just made sure I checked the CD's before I did the install. With the Redhat check CD feature. The iso off the Redhat website was corrupted so I downloaded from Linuxiso.org and that worked for me. It was only part of a package on the second cd that was corrupt.

try starting "install vmwaretool" then cancel it. It worked for me but when i tried to install vmwaretools later it tells me that it can not find "vmhgfs". I understand that vmware does not support rh 9 at the moment. Anyone gotten around this.
