Hi Ryan
I got my RH9 as an offer with Linux User a couple of months ago. It installs perfect.
I don't know what you are planning to do. Get rid of WIN once and for all or go for a dual boot with Linux. I don't know if you're currently a dual boot with ME and XP or if you use both OS. Anyway I would sugest, depending on the size of your HD, a dual boot with Linux.
I'm assuming you already have one or two OS on your machine. If you have one, just get the RH 1st CD on and restart , the installation will start. If you OK with clean installs of WIN just go for it and if something happens you can always start again.Remember that Linux is going to need space for itself so if you have not made any partitions alresdy linux is goint to ask you what you want to do and many people have messed up at this stage. One thought, if you decie to install RH and it gets to the point I've just mentionned, let it finnish don't just pannic in the midle of it and try to stop it, when Linux is doing the partitions let it do it otherwise all you've got in the system will go bananas and you'll have to do a clean install. It happen to me when I installed my first linux.
Good luck

I suggest to install RH to another drive

$90 for 60 - 80 gig HDD 7200rpm
$80 for 40 gig HDD 7200rpm

Rh will create a dual boot for you in your boot partition. you can then add other OS boots to it at a later date. make sure you make a boot disk.

"WINE" - I've heard people have good sucess getting their MS Windows apps working with the CrossOver products... but I only used wine myself to run sol.exe and United Devices (UD) distributed computing project (it worked ok but if I clicked on UD's tray icon too much I started getting errors.)

-Networking - I'm a newbie in this area. I guess start with the docs RedHat put together for RH 9 here

-Word Processing Etc. - Open Office is your friend... I've had good success using it to read PowerPoint files, create PDFs (print to file), etc.
