hello,

I install the Firebird RPM and Admin, which requires the root password. However I can now only run the program as root. I switch the owner to admin and the group to admin, but can still only run the program as root. Does anyone know what the problem is?

thanks

Charlie

Check the permission. You should allow everyone on your system to run it by (as root)

chmod 755 /usr/bin/firefox/firefox
chmod 755 /usr/bin/firefox/firefox-bin
(or wherever you install firefox & firefox-bin)

If it is the same as Firebird is You should install it in your home dirictory. I just installed it today and it works great.
I added an entry to my KDE menu.
To use it in Gnome you have to type /home/username/mozillafirebird/Firebird on the run line or in a virtual terminal.
Or something like that. You know the path to the executable.
Good luck
Ron
