I have a 80 MB hard disk. Can I install Red Hat Linux 7.2? I just want a C and C++ compiler with man pages. Will 80 MB be enough?

Sorry but I don't think 80 MB is big enough to install even a basic Linux! Harddrives are cheap enough nowadays that I think you should consider getting one, 20 GB, and install a full version of Linux on it...

There are many mini distributions of Linux. MuLinux for instance can be installed from 1 to 6 floppies onto a virtual disk in RAM memory and used that way or "cloned" to your hardrive. Takes very little space. You'll have to look to see if any of these mini distributions meet your needs.

You can easily install linux on an 80mb HD, you just need to make sure you're selective with your package installation. You'll just want a bare install, no X, probably no kernel source (it'll push the limits most likely, havent check the size lately). I suggest Slackware (I'm biased) and use the expert install option, that way you have the most control over what gets installed.
