Hello, I'm a Linux novice. I'm planning to install RedHat Linux on my computer. My computer is running win98se and has two hdds - one is 8GB (where win98 is installed) and the other is 2GB. I'm planning to use the second one (2GB) for the Linux. My question is:
1. Is the hdd(2GB) large enough for the Linux?
2. Is there any thing I should be aware of when installing the Linux on the slave hdd?

Thx~

2 GB should be fine. If your distrib of choice offers a way to be a bit selective about what to install, use that option rather than doing a full install.

Running linux from a slave hdd is no problem at all. You might need to know that the slave hdd on the primary ide adapter is called /dev/hdb in linux (hda is the master drive), and the partitions are named hdb1, hdb2 and so on.

i would suggest you use a much more userfriendly distro, like Mandrake. redhat is more for servers. unless you want to learn a whole stinkin lot about linux, then i would suggest something less fancy like LFS or gentoo or slackware
