I am looking for some one to help with the steps of installing Fedora on my USB HD so I can take it from my laptop to my desktop to my work pc. I am new at all of this and just learning, so in simple terms would be the best. I have searched the internet and a lot of the posts were over my head. All my other computers can boot from USB.

Many distros offer a live cd/dvd. You simply boot to the disk and run it from the disk, No need to install anything. You don't need to use an external usb drive that has been installed.

https://fedorahosted.org/liveusb-creator/ is about as fool proof as it gets. Even I used it.

"Best Practices", Event viewer, host file, perfmon, antivirus, anti-spyware, Live CD's, backups, are in my top 10
