hi

i recently installed linux on my laptop and i am completly new to it. i am trying to install a driver for my laptops graphics card but when i try it says i do not have the permisions to do that. can anyone help me please?

the 9800gx2 is here im not joking!

It would help to know which Linux distro you're running & which graphics you have.

Also, installation of any kernel module
will require root (administrative) user
authority. If you are attempting to install
a kernel module from your user account
(not as root), you will receive this error
message.

Normally you use su or sudo then command to do that.

"Best Practices", Event viewer, host file, perfmon, antivirus, anti-spyware, Live CD's, backups, are in my top 10

sudo is not configured in Mandriva by
default, so I always forget to include it in
