install suse 7.2

when i try to install from cd it doesnt boot the kernel is loaded, then after a while, i get the message: cant mount /root in 3a:00 i dont know why! i installed with the same cd on an other comp successfull ! on the hda is no partition, the system before was mandrake 8.1 did anyone have the same probs?!? the recue-system doesnt work at all!
