I have Caldra 2.3 (2.x)
installed. I`m having a real hard time with the vidio card and monitor settings. Lizard found Intel unknown chipset 0x7125 rev3 I put 8192 vidio ram programable up to 60 hz with the monitor (I think) 800x600,60hz horizontal snc 14 31.5-37.9 refresh 70hz depth 8-32bpp 250 colors no vertual desktop I went threw almost all the settings to get a picture but the picture i`m getting is huge. Looking at the desktop the only thing thats showing on my screen is half of the panel, from the "k" to the one two three and four. nothing else. I just bought this computer, It`s a compaq 800mgz 5000 series 508ous with a compaq mv540 monitor I went to the compaq site, punched in my numbers to get specs but "sorry we have no information" The closest I came is ON board graphics 11meg ram agp graphics 3d graphics 1600x1200 And MPEG-2 full motion vidio 11mb shared memory But nothing I could see matched the choices I got from the setup Can anybody help? If I have to dump what I have 15 times to get this I will The way it is now, when linux starts it brings me to that small portion of the screen that there`s no way out of. Thank you in advance for thinking about my problem.

I'm not sure about caldra, but with Redhat you can access a command prompt by pressing ctrl F1~F6.
This will give you the option then to enter something like Xconfig, or setup to change video settings.
This has come in handy with myself with I have display problems.

Hope this helps

I found that. I started playing with the keyboard, and popped into login that led me to a shell, read my book a little more and found XF86Setup. Played with that awhile till it said XF86Setup is running on another vertiul desktop. Back to the book. Thanks JB
