libXm.so.2 is needed by opera-7.11-20030515.1
and it quit installing. could you anybody over there please tell me what is the cause? Please help me as I am a newbie in Linux and I like Opera browser very much.

Lot of Thanks in Advance.

Hey, good find mandika... Emmanuel, you should start using "apt-get" for Red Hat. You will never see another "failed dependency" message again... It is so easy to use...... Go here:

http://apt.freshrpms.net/. Just:

cd /to/directory/where/apt/is
su
rpm -Uvh apt-0.5.5cnc5-fr2.i386.rpm

Assuming that is the name of the file you downloaded.... Then run:

apt-get update

you'll have to be root I believe... Then, say... If you are trying to install mplayer, just:

apt-get install mplayer

No work involved.... All the RPM's will be stored in:

/var/cache/apt/archives

if you want to back them up on a later install... Just throw them back in that directory and run the install again and they are all there... Dependency Hell is a thing of the past with apt-get.

There is also a front-end GUI called synaptic. Just:

apt-get install synaptic

then run "synaptic" at a prompt... I like using the terminal better but at least you can see what you can get with synaptic...

Hi

Very very thanks for the mail. Even though I use Redhat for years, I hear it now. I wonder how come this is not knowing to me. I was wondering like how other guys install something. I felt like hell when I had to deal with failed dependencies. Thanks very much . Let me go and get it and try

bye
Thanks a lot.
