I am a 2 day newbie, I need some help how to install ndis wrapper so that I can install my windows drivers for my dlink dwl-122...I really do not understand what the website is telling me to do so the simplest step by step would be best....I am in the gnome GUI on Suse 9.2 and I have the wrapper copied on my CD..

I don't think you really want to be
installing windoze drivers on
GNU/Linux!
Here's a howto on how to get one going under
linux:

I appreciate the info, but I am still trying to understand the Linux language...based on these instructions on the link you gave I am assuming that I have to download
A. a kernel source, in my case 2.6.8
B. File: linux-wlan-ng-0.2.1pre25.tar.bz2

am I understanding this correctly?

It looks that way. The only difference being
that you mention
linux-wlan-ng-0.2.1pre25.tar.bz2 rather than
the one in the howto
linux-wlan-ng-0.2.1-pre16.tar.gz. The main
difference being the compression format
used. Instead of the command:
tar -zxf linux-wla....
use
tar -jxf linux-wla....
Also make note of the different command give
when using a 2.6 kernel like yours.
You could try the process starting from the
part where you download and compile just the
linux-wlan-ng drivers rather than having to
recompile your kernel....but it may fail as
Julian says. Recompiling your kernel is
probably a good idea anyway, just take your
time going through all the choices. If you
are going to compile it from within a
graphical X session then instead of the
command:
make menuconfig
use
make xconfig
or
make gconfig
