Open a console with admin rights, then run the file like this: ./ati-driver-installer-8.42.3-x86.x86_64.run
Follow the instructions on your screen. To escape the "installation text", just press ctrl-q to continue. After the process, an rpm file has been generated. Run the file.rpm as: rpm -Uvih file.rpm
This worked for suse linux but must also work with fedora and a few other distributions.
