First, has anybody successfully installed the ATI Proprietary Linux Driver 3.7.6 on a GNU/Linux system running Linux 2.6, and if it does, will it work on a PCI Radeon 9200, because I know the orignal 9200 was AGP?

Second, I know UT2003 only worked on an nVIDIA card on GNU/Linux, but does anybody know if UT2004 will work on a 256mb ATi Radeon 9200?

Third, does Linux 2.6 support 256mb video cards?

Fourth, will Linux 2.6 support the Turtle Beach Catalina sound card using 24 bit audio?

Fith, if I install Mandrake 10.0 offical, and let it use it's default partition setup, which partition will have enough space to install a 5gb game, like UT2004?

Please help me, I would love nothing more than to get rid of Win XP completly and just use Mandrake 10.0, but in order for me to do this, all my hardware must be compatible with Mandrake 10.0, and UT2004 must work on an ATi video card. I would greatly appreciate ANY help what so ever, and I will thank you even if it does not work.

Radeon 9200 PCI w/ 256mb of RAM, 2.0ghz Pentium 4, 1gb of PC2100 DDR 266 RAM, 40gb Hard Drive, Turtle Beach Catalina

1. I don't remember what version, but I have run the ATI drivers in Gentoo on a desktop with a Radeon 9800, and Mandrake and Gentoo on laptops with Radeon 9000s.

2. It'll work if you have the ATI drivers installed.

3. No, that's why we rely on ATI's drivers for support.

4. Is it any of these?

5. Assuming you have enough HD space, one of the partitions will be large enough. You get to pick where you want to install it, so space allocation shouldn't be a problem.

Thank you, and in reply to "Is it any of these?", no it is not. It is the Turtle Beach Catalina, it was released last March. It is an Envy24PT/HT-S based card. Will there be any way to support it? Also, are you sure that UT2K4 will work an an ATi video card? Because the GNU/Linux version of UT2K3 required an nVIDIA card. Also, when you say "No, that's why we rely on ATI's drivers for support.", does that mean it will see all 256mb if I use the ATi drivers? Also, your reply to my first question did not say is the system's you ran the drivers had the 2.6 kernel. Did they, and if they did, did 3d acceleration work properley?

Radeon 9200 PCI w/ 256mb of RAM, 2.0ghz Pentium 4, 1gb of PC2100 DDR 266 RAM, 40gb Hard Drive, Turtle Beach Catalina
