I am running linux on a 6-GB partition and I know that my hard drive has a 2-GB partition in which I want to install WIN98. How do I do that, without overwritting Linux?

Even though you CAN install win98 on your 2GB
partition, you will not be able to boot into Linux after you install win98 (this is because win98 loader will ERASE lilo from your MBR.

One way to overcome this is to install loadlin in win98 and boot the linux with that (not recommended). Once you boot, re-install lilo so that you can have selectable boot between win98 and linux.

Using fdisk (or any other disk utility under linux) create a FAT32 partition on the empty space, reboot your machine with win98 installation disk in place.

I had win98 SE installed on drive c: ( FAT32); Defragmented C: used partition magic to create a new partition on C: and installed Suse 7.0 in there with lilo in /boot. ( planning to use bootmagic )Linux working great , however WIN98 is now TERRIBLY SLOW. Anyone has an idea what the problem is ? Does WIN98 think the Linux partition marked as Extended logical partition is still accessible under WIN 98 control ? Anyone having faced this problem ? I tried to define two primary partitions on C: ( one hidden ) , but after YAST2 I see the Linux partition as logical partition.
