Hi, I am not getting any sound while playing mp3 in fedora core 6. I have installed the Realplayer 10 and the song is playing , but no sound. Please help. Thanks

thank you for kind reply... my sound device is not recognised. manufacture of sound chip is intel. i tried to install ALSA sound drivers, but no use, there is a warning that the default sound device is muted. i am waiting for ur reply.

check your hardware settings your integrated sound must be supported Let me tell you one thing about integrated sound- its not as loud as an onboard sound card would be. You will have to purchase a new sound card. Ask your vendor whether it is supported by linux. YOU will have to this PUT all your volume controls to the MAX UNMUTE everything Then play your music- you should be able to hear it but it wont be veryloud or even loud.(which is quite disappointing). After doing this nothing happens then YOU might have to configure your sound card.

hai, previously, when i installed linux first time in my system , i got the soumd , there was no problem with the sound card at that time, and i done some changes in settings which i could not trace, from that onwards i am not getting sound. So, again i installed linux in my system, but i am not getting any sound.
