Comment:

I host an apache web server with a few websites and images of items that I sell on ebay. Recently a seller hotlinked to one of my images.
I reported them to eBay and changed the image they were using.
Is there is a way to prevent other eBay sellers from hot-linking to my images? There doesn't seem to be any way to identify an eBay user from the listing URL. So it looks like htaccess file won't work in this situation.

It looks like the ebay item numbers appear in the URL of the item.

Would it be possible to use the item number to manage access to the images?
