How to OPEN+RUN .exe files in Linux

How can i execute the exe files from a cdrom(civil.3)to my machine.?I need a compiler or something??????THANX!

To execute a file in linux you just type
./filename
when in the same dir as the file, or
/path/to/filename

Thie does not work for .exe's though, they are windows executables, not linux executables, big difference.

Well, you could always try using Wine.

if the exe is a windoze exe, wine.
if is is a dos exe, dosemu is sufficient.
