How to make Linux bootable CD

In Red Hat linux 9 the cd does't boot when i insert it in the cd rom at POST. Plz guide me that how can i make linux bootable floppy so that i may install Linux. Thanks.

The cd should already be bootable, but you have to configure your computer to boot to it. This is done in the bios setup. When you start your computer, there is a keystroke that will allow you to enter setup (normally f2 or del, look at the bottom or top of screen at POST), and in setup you should find a boot sequence option. set this to boot from CDROM first, make sure the cd is in the drive, and hopefully all goes well. If you don't have this option in bios, than that's a different story...

If you have already set your BIOS to boot from CDROM the check to see if you have burned the CD correctly, there shuold be files and directories on there and not just one big file. What program and how did you burn the image?
