I just dl red hat linux 9 from www.linuxiso.org. When I extract the files i end up with a whole bunch of files. I don't understand how to burn it to a cd. Isn't there supposed to be a .bin or .cue file? Or am i just supposed to burn everything just like that on to the cd? I use Nero burning rom (ultra edition). So should i just make a data disc and use the files that extracted from the ones that i dl? Thanks from b4.

If you have downloaded RH Linux from www.linuxiso.org, it must be an iso image. Burn the chosen file as an iso image.

When you choose to burn it as an image, you wont see the file because it is not a standard nero image. However when you select the correct image type from the list, nero will show you all the iso files.

That what my problem is. I don't see any iso files when i iuse nero to burn the files that were extracted. Only folders show up (dosutils, images, isolinux, Redhat, and a bunch of other files that were extracted from the original .rar files)

You said you downloaded the ISO's from linuxiso.org
Open Nero, don't start a new session.
Import the ISO's (Burn Image), you might have to click the pull down menu in the Open window and make it say ISO images or ALL Files before Nero will see the ISO.
The burn away. Reboot and put the disc in and let the disc load on bootup and install away

You do not need to do any file extraction if the downloaded files are iso images. All of the files here: http://www.linuxiso.org/distro.php?distro=7 are iso images. The original files you downloaded should have had a .iso extension on them. In Nero use the "Burn Image" function to burn the image to CD. When the "Burn Image" function is complete there will be various files and folders on the CDs. Disk 1 is bootable and will start the installation process.

for my info, i checked www.linuxiso.org. AFIK, the ONLY thing you can download from "Most popular distributions" are iso images. Perhaps you are unaware of what an ISO image is? For practical purposes, it is a CD. windoze, linux and other OS's allow you to "mount" this "cd-image-iso" so that you see the contents, e.g., "dosutils, images, isolinux, Redhat, and a bunch of other file".

You need to become familiar with Nero (i gather this is windoze), as you have the iso files and simply need to burn them to cd's.
