How to install linux over Network

Please let me know how to install linux over network as i dont have the cdrom in my PC i have to access cdrom from windows 2000 server.

It depends on which distro you plan to install.
I don't know about others but in RedHat Linux,
there is an option to install either from
local CD-ROM, harddrive, or ftp! I think you
want to pick the ftp option. To do that, you
need to download a file called bootnet.img
and build a bootable floppy disk wit it.
Check with RedHat's website for more info
about installing it over the net. And I bet
if you look around, you will find something
similar to that for other distros as well.

Thanks for your prompt reply the method which u told me i have tried using this method but after i got confused where when the screen comes and asks for partition and directory could u plz help me.

i am realy sorry that i posted the same question again its by mistake

Boot with the BOOTNET.img image on a floppy disk. It will ask for network card and shared drive information and start installation.

I used bootnet few years ago and it work fine.

the command to copy bootnet.img is

d:\dosutils>rawrite ..\images\bootnet.img a:\

Am i rite ?
From that command i copy the bootnet.img afterthat i boot through Floppy but for some time it tries to read the floppy but invain to boot from the floppy and redirect to Windows .
Could u plz help me , i m in deep trouble .
so plzzzz help me out .

Sorry to again ,
Again i Have tried and now its boot from Floppy but during booting it gives an error :
Loading initrd.img.....

Boot failed: Please Change a disk and PRESS any key to continue .
Plz tell me what to do Now , please help me coz i m in Dieing Stage
